STATE HEALTH INSURANCE PROGRAM (SHIP)

The State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) is an unbiased counseling program provided by the Indiana Department of Insurance for Medicare Beneficiaries in Indiana. SHIP is not affiliated with any insurance company or agency and does not sell insurance. SHIP counselors must complete intensive training to offer objective assistance regarding Medicare enrollment.

What services can I receive from the State Health Insurance Program (SHIP)?

A SHIP counselor provides health insurance counseling for people with Medicare. SHIP counseling can be done via telephone or face-to-face interactions and public education presentations. 

​

Are there eligibility requirements or costs to participate?

​

There is no cost to speak with a SHIP Counselor for information and assistance on Medicare enrollment. However, each program will have its own set of eligibility requirements and your SHIP Counselor can provide you with those specific requirements.
