TRIAD is a national effort headed by local law enforcement in partnership with local social service agencies to offer a variety of specialized programs on safety for older adults. Allen County TRIAD sponsors include: Allen County Sheriff’s Department, Fort Wayne Police Department, New Haven Police Department, Indiana State Police, Fort Wayne – Allen County Health Department, Fort Wayne Fire Department, TRAA Ambulance Services, and Aging & In-Home Services of Northeast Indiana. What are the safety programs that TRIAD offers?

Unwanted Medication Disposal Program: a community service to improve water quality, decrease environmental exposure to medications, and deter accidental ingestion of medicines disposed of in ordinary trash. This service is offered at permanent sites, as well as at specific sites on scheduled days.

SAFENET Identification Program: A Service for the Memory Impaired offering identification and registration to assist caregivers of those who may wander without warning.

Safe at Home: an Emergency Registration System offering registration of residents who may need special assistance at time of an emergency. Registration of this confidential information  enables emergency personnel to better assist those with major medical or physical disabilities, or those who may not be aware of emergency warnings due to hearing or mobility.
